Thomas S. Schreier Jr.
CEO, FAF Advisors; President, First American Funds
Tom is the CEO of FAF Advisors and president of First American Funds. Appointed as CEO in 2000, he orchestrated the successful integration of multiple disparate cultures into what is now FAF Advisors. Under Tom’s leadership, the firm has become a leading investment advisor with a strong performance-driven culture with experienced, world class professionals; a well-established and proven investment processes; and a stable of strong products. In addition, he has spearheaded the expansion of FAF's distribution from a proprietary focus to a growing multi-channel approach. Prior to his current position, Tom served in senior leadership roles at Piper Jaffray and was a member of the management committee that brought the firm’s equity group to national prominence. Previously, he was a top-ranked senior airline equity analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. Prior to that, Tom was vice president of finance at Northwest Airlines where he was responsible for corporate finance, pension, cash, and credit transactions. Tom received a B.A. in economics and German from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. Tom serves as director, chairman of the finance committee, and member of the audit committee for Pinnacle Airlines Corp. He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Investment Company Institute (ICI). Tom is chairman of the Saint Thomas Academy Board of Trustees, is an advisory board member of Granite Global Ventures, and is a member of the Applied Investment Management Advisory Board for the University of Notre Dame.

David A. Chalupnik, CFA
Senior Managing Director, Head of Equities
David is head of equities for FAF Advisors. He is responsible for the equity investment process and performance of the equity investment group. He is also the manager of Large Cap Select and co-manager of Mid Cap Select and he is a member of FAF Advisors’ Operating Committee and Asset Allocation Committee. He began working in the financial industry in 1984. Prior to joining the firm in 2002, David served as chief investment officer for Chicago-based Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co. He was also head of the Equity Investment division of Allstate Insurance Company in Northbrook, Illinois. David received an A.A. from the College of Du Page, as well as a B.S. in commerce and an M.B.A., both from DePaul University. He has held the Chartered Financial Analyst designation since 1986 and is a member of the CFA Institute. David has served as a spokesperson for the firm, appearing in media such as CNBC-TV, Bloomberg TV, and Bloomberg Radio, and has been quoted by Financial Times, BusinessWeek, Investor’s Business Daily, the Associated Press, Reuters, and the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Lynne M. Harrington
Sr. Mng. Director, Head of Inst. Advisory Group
Lynne manages the Institutional Advisory Group for FAF Advisors, which is responsible for new business development, client relations, and consultant relations in the institutional marketplace. The Institutional Advisory Group serves investment management needs of more than 200 corporations, foundations, public funds, and other institutions. Lynne is also a member of FAF Advisors’ Operating Committee. Lynne began working in the financial industry in 1983 in a role as managing director for public finance. A graduate of St. Olaf College, Lynne earned a B.A. in political science and an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas. Lynne is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association and has served as an advisor to the Committee on the Retirement Benefits Administration. She is a trustee on the board of Deep Portage Conservation Reserve and is the current board chair. Lynne has also served on the boards of the YWCA of Minneapolis and Development Corporation for Children.

Keith B. Hembre, CFA
Chief Economist and Chief Investment Strategist
Keith heads the Quantitative Analysis team that manages the firm’s asset allocation, index and quantitative strategies and is responsible for overall investment risk management. Starting work in the financial services industry in 1992, Keith joined FAF Advisors in 1997 and is a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. Previously, he was a credit analyst at Piper Capital Management and worked in the Banking Studies group at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Keith is regularly quoted in major business publications, including The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, CNN Money, Investor’s Business Daily, and Reuters. Keith has also appeared on CNBC and Bloomberg TV. Keith graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree and Baylor University with a master’s degrees in economics. His master’s thesis was on the implications of the then-proposed North American Free Trade Agreement on the labor market. Keith also completed the program on investment decisions and behavioral finance at Harvard University. A member of the CFA Institute, Keith has taught economics at the St. Petersburg University of Economics and Finance in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Kimberly F. Kaul
Senior Managing Director, Communications
As the head of Communications for FAF Advisors, Kim manages the brand and directs the creation of marketing and client/shareholder materials for the Advisor and First American products. She also serves as a member of FAF Advisors’ Operating Committee. Kim, who began working in the financial industry in 1983, joined the firm in 1986. She was previously senior vice president of communications for Piper Capital Management. Kim also worked in communications at Piper Jaffray and Bankers Systems. She received an A.A. from Cottey College and an B.A. in mass communications from St. Cloud State University.

David H. Lui
Chief Compliance Officer
David joined the firm as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) in 2005 and is responsible for oversight of compliance at FAF Advisors and First American Funds. He is also a member of FAF Advisors’ Operating Committee. He began working in the financial industry in 1988. David received an A.B. in history from Brown University and a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. He has been admitted to practice law in both California and Minnesota. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Society of Compliance Professionals and is a nationally recognized speaker on compliance issues.

Charles R. Manzoni, Jr.
General Counsel
Charlie joined the firm in 2004 and is responsible for overseeing all legal and compliance issues involving the firm and First American products. He began working in the financial industry in 1975 and in addition to more than 20 years of experience in private practice at Gardner, Carton & Douglas, Charlie served as executive vice president and general counsel for Zurich Kemper Investment, where he managed a legal staff and was responsible for oversight of a variety of legal functions, including acquisitions, regulatory compliance, litigation, contract negotiations, and employee benefits. In private practice, Charlie represented clients in corporate finance and M&A transactions and counseled financial service clients regarding regulatory compliance. Charlie began his legal career with the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. He received a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Santa Clara and has served as an adjunct professor in the Financial Services Law Program sponsored by ITT Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Tony Rodriguez
Senior Managing Director, Head of Fixed Income
Tony is the head of the firm’s fixed-income department. He is responsible for the investment process and performance of the fixed-income group and is a member of the Investment Policy Committee and FAF Advisors’ Operating Committee and Asset Allocation Committee. Tony began working in the financial industry in 1984. Prior to joining the firm in 2002, he was director and head of global corporate bonds at Credit Suisse Asset Management in New York from 1999 to 2002. He was also managing director and head of corporate bonds for Prudential Global Asset Management in Newark, New Jersey, where he worked in various capacities since 1988. Tony also worked as a portfolio manager for General Electric Investment Corporation in Stamford, Connecticut, and in various financial management capacities for General Electric Company in Fairfield, Connecticut. He received a B.A. in economics from Lafayette College and an M.B.A. in finance from New York University. Tony has served as a spokesperson for the firm and has been quoted in media such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Reuters.

Jon M. Stevens
Director – Fundamental Equity Research
Jon oversees the pool of fundamental equity research analysts who support the large- and mid-cap portfolios. The director of fundamental equity research ensures that the firm's equity investment process is consistently implemented by incorporating FAF Advisors’ fundamental and quantitative tools. In addition, Jon leads the Brokerage Practices Committee and is a member of FAF Advisors’ Operating Committee. Jon began working in the financial industry in 1980 and joined the firm in 1984. He previously spent nine years leading the FAF Advisors’ Private Asset Management group before it was realigned with U.S. Bank. In this role, he led the investment process for 170 portfolio managers who managed portfolios in excess of $50 billion in assets. Jon received a B.S. from Minnesota State University - Mankato. He serves as treasurer for the Morton Cure Paralysis Fund.

Joseph M. Ulrey III
CFO, Head of Technology and Operations
As Chief Financial Officer and Head of Technology and Operations, Joe oversees FAF Advisors’ finance, mutual fund treasury, securities lending, technology, and investment operations. He participates in the corporate development of FAF Advisors and serves as a member of FAF Advisors’ Operating Committee and Investment Policy Committee. Joe began working in the financial industry in 1981, and he joined the firm in 1991. He previously oversaw credit research, money market mutual funds, quantitative products, and risk management. Prior to working at FAF Advisors, Joe was at U.S. Bank’s Treasury and Finance departments, where he supervised asset/liability management, planning and analysis, and strategic planning. Joe earned a B.A. from Macalester College and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He serves on the finance committee of the YMCA of Greater St. Paul.

John G. Wenker
Head of Real Estate
John is responsible for the investment process and performance of the Real Estate Securities team. He is lead manager of the Real Estate Debt product. John is co-lead manager of the Real Estate Securities product, which invests primarily in equity real estate investment trusts. He is also co-portfolio manager of the Global Infrastructure product, which invests in listed infrastructure companies. Starting work in the financial services industry in 1983, John joined FAF Advisors in 1992 as a managing director of the Fixed Income department. He is a member of FAF Advisors’ Operating Committee, the Asset Allocation Committee, and the Investment Strategy Committee. As an FAF Advisors spokesperson on real estate issues, John has appeared on CNBC TV’s “Squawk Box” and has been quoted in publications such as BusinessWeek and The Wall Street Journal. John earned a B.A. in public administration from Metropolitan State University, and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of St. Thomas.

Frank Wheeler
Head of Distribution, FAF Advisors
Frank is responsible for retail, institutional, and strategic sales, as well as key accounts, product, marketing, communications, and public relations. He is focused on expanding distribution of First American Funds to third parties – including wire houses, regional brokerage firms, and financial advisory firms – and increasing the firm’s asset-management presence in the institutional marketplace. He also serves as a member of FAF Advisors’ Operating Committee. Frank began working in the financial industry in 1985 and joined FAF Advisors in 2007. He has a track record of successfully building revenues across diverse financial-services and packaged-goods companies. Before joining the firm, he was managing director and head of institutional marketing for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), having previously served as MLIM chief marketing officer for the Asia-Pacific region in Tokyo. He also held high-net-worth retail roles in the MLIM Americas region. Frank developed his business and marketing skills during a brand-management career at Procter & Gamble. He also has several years of financial-services experience with Morgan Stanley and Wachovia. He received a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School.
